We all know that rejection is a tough pill to swallow. It’s that thing that people hate to acknowledge or admit. Instead, we hide behind it. We give up. We somehow even think that no is the final answer. We hate the feeling because it makes us sick to our stomachs—rejection hits you right in the gut and in the heart. However, everyone has experienced some form of rejection in his or her life and career. No one is immune to it.
On the flip side, rejection actually builds character. You gotta take that "no" as your motivation toward "yes". No should be fuel to your fire. Its, even more, reason for you to prove something to yourself. If you are fortunate enough to get a no with a reason, don’t ignore the feedback. Acknowledge it and then build a plan to fix it.
No is a gift worth knowing (pun intended)! Without it, we cannot seek to improve. Don’t hold onto your previous rejections; you cannot change what has happened. Instead, get full control of what is happening in the present. And what is happening now is that you need to forge ahead. Go get paid to be who you are regardless of the rejection. People often stop pursuing what they love when they hear no because, for some reason, they believe that is the final answer. No is never the final answer unless you accept it to be your final answer.
Have you encountered rejection recently while pursuing your dream? What motivation has ignited in you as a result of the rejection? How will you go for no?
